If evolution was not purposeful then there would be no carnivore to counter the population growth of the herbivore. The herbivore without a cranivore overpopulates, dies because there is not enough food to go around. The goal of nature, the aim is balance, without balance within it, it collapses. The human induced global warming has upset the balance of nature, pushing it to a new direction. There are no constraints on where organisms go. A small amount of bacterium evolved over billions of years into an elephant, or an ant. Not off topic at all really, this discussion developed from the discussion on the term 'acts of god and nature.'

That post is wrong in so many ways. Where to start?
If evolution was purposeful, then that purpose would constrain how organisms could evolve, so there's a contradiction right there.
There are always constraints. Most mutations are harmful - only a few are neutral or beneficial, so there are only a few ways a species can evolve at any given time. It's impossible to predict where those constraints will lead over a long period of time, but that doesn't mean they're not there.
Balance is where things naturally end up, but it's not a goal. If you reach a balanced state, you tend to stay there - that's why it's called balance. With nature, though, the balance tends to be unstable - if it were stable, there'd be no change, no evolution.
Herbivores without carnivores would reach their own balance - probably through a cycle of overpopulation and dying off to sustainable numbers until food grows back, leading to overpopulation again.
Human activity has certainly shifted the balance in a lot of ways - not just global warming, but hunting loads of species to extinction, deforestation, agriculture, and so on.

The people of W&T read the editorial pages of the tACA newspapers and increasingly feel a sense of affinity with the people of Clapton Pond. They are considering pursuing the Peoples Proliferation agreement in some significant way once they establish a diplomatic core in the Pond. Right now they are busy painting big yellow 38's on the sides of the vehicles that will take the first diplomatic team there. As soon as the technology workers local fixes all the broken utility housings they will call Clapton offices and attempt to foster some connections.

The people of Clapton Pond look forward to exchanging embassies with W&T, and eventually setting up one of them PIPA thangs. Once we get our shit together and can devote more time to such pursuits, that is.

I'll add you both to the draft as potentials.
Let me know if you want to be removed.

(While I'm known to go off on tangents myself - I've found out to my cost that off-topic swings are a bastard when you're trying to unearth an old post that you never thought would be important)
Watfordshire is ever more interested in the IPPA since its recent political immmigration from the Anti-Capitalist Alliance. As long-standing allies the Shiree seek only to expound the nomadic spirit with mutually regulated adventure, and look forward to discussing the finer points of integration with the people of Sacco and those of Vanzetti.
Moist regards
Ingleson Earnest Shiree Herald, IPPA

Unless there are any specific objections on the thread or regional forum about S&V's presence in the Anarcho Communist Alliance geographic region, I plan to republish the PIPA treaty as a completed document in the next 3 days, with the agreed changes.
I'll also publish the map of S&V's tACA islands. Can anyone who wants to share a PIPA with me let me know whether they'd like to be on our Aperin or our tACA location.
