If/or as there is going to be an election, it would be good if this board had a poll facilty. As there doesn't seem to be, I would like to ascertain a few points. Who are the nominees? What are their proposals? Why do they want to be a delegate? What do they hope to achieve if elected?

This seems a fair point.
As far as I can see there are two self-nominated candidates, Workers Communes and Walter & Theodor (although I nominated W&T some time ago, they declined).
It would be valuable to hear their proposals, why they would want the delegacy and what they hope to achieve if elected.

I don't want to nominate myself! Please don't turn me into a politician! All I have done is voice my opposition to Walter and Theodor becoming delegate; I would rather a second candidate were nominated whose views and voting style were more akin to my own. Untill then though, I will just reiterate why I do not personally want Walter and Theodor representing me in the UN:
"1) Their method of choosing which way to vote on a resolution is based on whether they agree with the wording of the act rather than the effect the act would have on UN members (which I believe to be the more important factor). As a result I have on occassion disagreed with W&T over certain resolutions and am not confident they would represent my interests in the UN (recent resolutions W&T supported led to significant falls in my and other nations' civil rights, as we all knew they would).
2) I have ideological disagreements with W&T in certain areas. They have stated in the regional forum that they no longer believe in the potential of anarchism and are moving ideologically towards a more statist form of socialism. This view is perfectly fine but it is not my own and neither do I think it is representative of the views of most Anarcho Communist Alliance members."
I agree that four hands are better than two and that we are in dire need of a re-shuffle but I could not support this particular candidate for the reasons I have listed.

The Yellow Spot will only vote in an election if it is certain that it is not a representative position. If the UN delegate can just vote any which way no matter the feelings of the rest of the region, we shall abstain from participating. (OOC: we can vote for stupid ass representatives in real life, we play neat games like this so we can pretend to do cool things). Any candidate for delegate who intends to vote on their own feelings instead of according to a vote by the member nations will have no support from us.
