Never heard of the guy till he died, now he's everywhere. Same old same old eh

From what I have read he seems like a cool guy, especially considering what his family say about him and his death.
I mean I've read a whole load of judgemental crap both for and against him, but in reality, his family knew him better than his readers.

Nah, Hunter was wicked, I just couldn't think of anything worth saying here.

He behaved like a complete nutjob at times (and I guess that includes at the end - blowing his brains out while on the phone to his wife was a pretty fucked up thing to do), but you certainly have to admire his blend of depravity and honesty.

RIP.

He's always been one of those writers on my reading list who I've never got round to properly investigating. Sadly I probably won't get around to doing so for a while, I think I'll wait untill the ridiculous post-suicide hysteria subsides before taking my first tentative steps.
